Job Purpose
To lead the financial reporting, planning and analysis activities for the Bailieborough site, providing robust financial governance, insightful business partnering and strategic decision support to site and leadership to drive operational and commercial performance.
Principal Responsibilities
- Prepare and present monthly management accounts for Bailieboro.
- Deliver clear financial insights to divisional and site management, explaining performance and variances against budget or standards.
- Lead the preparation of site budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with strategic and operational plans.
- Provide product costing and financial support for customer tenders involving Bailieboro manufactured products.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain accurate financial records.
- Track capital expenditure and assess project paybacks.
- Support senior management with financial analysis to inform business decisions.
- Partner with the Site Manager and HR team to provide financial input into HR/IR matters.
- Assist in securing Government supports in collaboration with site and central finance teams.
- Uphold robust financial controls in line with Group policies and industry best practices.
- Contribute to audit preparation and year-end financial processes.
- Manage and resolve claims with equipment and packaging suppliers.
- Lead and develop direct reports, ensuring high performance and engagement.
- Act as an active member of the Bailieboro site leadership team, attending relevant site performance, operational and project review meetings to ensure finance is embedded in day-to day decision making.
- Partner closely with Operations, Engineering, HR, Quality, Supply Chain and Commercial teams to identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement and value creation.
- Provide clear financial analysis on site performance, including yield, labour, energy, waste, downtime, efficiency, stock, overheads and conversion costs.
- Support the site in developing and tracking improvement plans, ensuring financial benefits are clearly defined, measured and delivered.
- Challenge operational performance constructively by highlighting trends, risks, opportunities and corrective actions.
Skills and Experience
- Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline
- Significant post-qualification experience in a finance leadership or management role
- Experience preparing monthly management accounts, budgets and forecasts
- Strong financial analysis and business partnering experience
- Experience managing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining financial controls
- Experience supporting operational and commercial decision-making with financial insights
- Experience leading, coaching and developing finance team members
- Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders across Operations, HR, Engineering and Commercial teams
- Experience supporting audits and year-end financial processes
