The opportunity:

Lakeland Dairies Co-operative Society Limited (The Group) is the second largest dairy processor on the island of Ireland. The business is complex and ambitious with a milk supply pool of 2 billion litres of milk, drawn from over 3,200 family farms across 16 counties.

Lakeland Dairies is seeking an Environmental Maintenance Technician to join our team at our Lough Egish site in Co. Monaghan. This role is responsible for carrying out preventative and corrective maintenance activities, supporting environmental compliance, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring site assets are operating effectively.

 

What does success look like? (Not limited to)

  • Operate and monitor the wastewater treatment plant to ensure efficient performance and compliance with environmental requirements.
  • Conduct routine inspections, sampling, monitoring, and process checks.
  • Identify and report operational issues and implement corrective actions where appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate operational records and plant logs.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on site equipment and environmental infrastructure.
  • Support contractors and service providers during maintenance activities and ensure maintenance records are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain site grounds, drainage systems, environmental assets, and operate site machinery and equipment safely and effectively.
  • What you will need to succeed:
  • Qualified Welder/Fitter, Mechanical Technician, or equivalent practical experience is essential.
  • Previous experience in preventative and corrective maintenance.
  • Previous experience working with machinery and mobile equipment.
  • Grounds maintenance or civil works experience.
  • Full clean driving licence.
  • Good understanding of health and safety requirements.
  • Experience operating a wastewater treatment plant or similar treatment process would be desirable.
  • Experience working within environmental or utility operations would be an advantage.
  • Manual Handling, Safe Pass, forklift, telehandler, excavator or other plant operation certification would be desirable.
  • Flexibility is required as the role may involve early morning or late evening work, emergency call-outs, weekend cover and additional hours during maintenance shutdowns or operational requirements.
